As of April 27, 2020, the Unity Days Committee for 2020 has not been appointed by the City Manager nor has City Council approved program funding for 2020. As additional information is made available, or alternative plans are developed, we will share them with the community.
Charlottesville City Council has designated the second weekend of August (and August 12 when it falls during the week) for the annual Unity Days events as the anniversary of the events of August 11 to 12, 2017. During Unity Days the Charlottesville community comes together in a spirit of healing and unity for a variety of events that educate, inspire, and honor people in our community in order to move towards economic and racial justice.
These events take place at venues throughout downtown Charlottesville. These city-sponsored, community-driven events focus on the theme of unity and include:
2020 Unity Days
Unity Days events will occur primarily during August 1 through 12, 2020.
