CFD hires an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Training Officer
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Charlottesville Fire Department announces the hiring of Captain Quincy Scott as an EMS Training Officer within the Professional Standards Division.
On Friday, June 3, 2022, the Charlottesville Fire Department hired Captain Quincy Scott as the EMS Training Officer (part-time). Mr. Scott brings over 30 years of Fire and EMS service to CFD and currently works full-time with the Lynchburg Fire Department. He holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Services.
Captain Scott has served as a paramedic preceptor for Central Virginia Community College and Liberty University. He is a veteran of the United States Army, where he served 13 years as a Combat Medical Specialist. His credentials include Nationally Registered Paramedic, Advanced Life Support Provider, Basic Life Support Provider, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider. Captain Scott has also worked for Centra Patient Transport Services at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital for 20 years.
He stated, “my objective is to provide the employees of Charlottesville Fire Department the ability to continuously enhance their EMS skills through cognitive and psychomotor instruction, QA/QI, and data analysis.” The Charlottesville Fire Department is excited to have Captain Scott join its Professional Standards team as an EMS Training Officer to enhance the training and development of its emergency medical services members.
