CPD Investigating Homicide Near 3rd St
The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred around 3:00 a.m. on 9/17/2022 near the 300 Block of 3rd Street NE.

The Charlottesville Police Department is actively investigating the homicide of twenty-nine-year-old Charlottesville resident, Daquain Anderson. On September 17, 2022 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Charlottesville Police Officers responded to the 300 Block of 3rd Street NE to investigate a shots-fired report. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the victim, later identified as Daquain Anderson. Anderson was transported to the University of Virginia ER where he succumbed to his injuries.
