Charlottesville Fire Department (CFD) Now Accepting Firefighter/EMT Applications 


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – CFD is seeking non-certified and certified candidates for the position of Firefighter from now until March 13th, 2023 at 5 p.m.

We are currently accepting applications online from now until March 13th at 5 p.m. Our Firefighter/Medic position is also open and continuous.

Do you want to make a difference in your community? CFD is seeking individuals who are compassionate, ethical, athletic, and highly motivated. They must also demonstrate Charlottesville's Core Values: Leadership, Trust, Creativity, Respect, and Excellence. 

 

Previous experience is optional; however, we highly encourage those we are certified to apply. Necessary skills and certifications will be provided through our training academy. Starting pay is $47,698.56. Being a firefighter is physically and emotionally demanding, but it is also a very rewarding career.
