Charlottesville – Winneba Sister City Relationship
Charlottesville and Winneba officially became Sister Cities in 2010. The relationship began through the efforts of a longtime Charlottesville resident who originally hailed from Winneba and saw many similarities and many opportunities for engagement between the two cities. The Charlottesville-Winneba Foundation was formed in 2012 to support the citizen exchanges and mutually beneficial collaborations that emerged from the Sister City relationship.
