In conjunction with the closure of City Hall, The Charlottesville Police Department’s lobby will also be closed on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
This closure does not impact CPD’s response to 911 calls for service, or Telephone Reporting Unit (TRU).
Taxi cab registrations will not be available during this time, but will resume as normal when the lobby reopens on Thursday, August 13.
Residents are reminded there are numerous services available online that do not require an in-person visit, including crime reporting, requesting crash reports, and other records.
Those who need to report a crime can file a report at the link here, or by calling our regional Emergency Communications Center’s non-emergency line at (434) 977-9041. Those who need to request other records may email RECORDSTEAM@charlottesville.gov.
