FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 8, 2020
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -
The Charlottesville “City Market To-Go” will be moving to the Charlottesville High School parking lots starting Saturday, September 12 for the remainder of the market season. The City Market had been operating at Darden Towe Park for the summer months, but the athletic fields will be reopening for local play and it was necessary for the market to find a new home.
Charlottesville High School is a central location that is large enough to handle the amount of space needed for the vendors and drive-thru customers. Parks & Recreation and City Schools were able to reach an agreement for the market to remain at CHS until the end of the season so the market will not have to move locations again in 2020.
Other than the pick-up location changing to Charlottesville High School, all other procedures and processes for City Market To-Go will remain the same. Customers will enter the market from Grove Road, which is also the entrance for the MLK Performing Arts Center, and will proceed through the parking lots and exit on Melbourne Road.
