The Charlottesville Police Department continues to seek the public’s assistance in locating Samuel Lee Houchens, a Charlottesville resident who was reported missing three years ago today.

Houchens was last seen at his home in the 1600 block of Meridian Street in the evening hours of June 20, 2018. Houchens has mobility issues, but a scooter he used as his primary means of transportation was still inside his home at the time of his disappearance.

CPD detectives and assisting agencies have conducted numerous ground searches in the Central Virginia region over the past few years.  Additionally, numerous leads and tips received over the course of the investigation have been exhausted.  Houchens is a beloved father, brother, and son. CPD is hopeful with the help of the community, answers to his disappearance may be uncovered.

Houchens, who is now 56 years old, has brown hair thinning on the top, is 5’7’’ tall, and weighs approximately 160 lbs.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Ron Stayments at (434) 970-3280 or Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000.  A reward of up to $1,000 is available through CrimeStoppers for information leading to Houchens whereabouts.
