Charlottesville City Offices will be closed Friday, July 4, 2025 in observance of Independence Day. 

Charlottesville Area Transit

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will operate as normally scheduled.

City Trash and Recycling Services 

There will be no residential curbside trash or recycling collection on Independence Day, July 4. Service will resume and complete on Saturday, July 5, one day behind schedule.

The uptown and downtown business route will be provided one collection for trash and recycling on Friday, July 4. This collection will begin at 7 AM.
