Charlottesville City Offices will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 27, 2025 and Friday, November 28, 2025.

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) 

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will operate as normally scheduled on Thursday and Friday.

City Trash and Recycling Services 

There will be no residential curbside trash or recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day. Service will resume on Friday, November 28, one day behind, and the "sliding" schedule will complete on Saturday, November 29.

The uptown and downtown business route will be provided one collection for trash and recycling on Thanksgiving Day. This collection will begin at 7 AM.
