City of Charlottesville Announces Opening of FY 2026 Small Business Energy Efficiency Incentive Grant Application Period
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA –The City of Charlottesville is excited to announce that the application period for the Small Business Energy Efficiency Incentive Grant Program is open. The City of Charlottesville is seeking a nonprofit partner to develop and deliver a small business energy efficiency incentive program. This new program aims to support businesses and not-for-profit organizations located in the City of Charlottesville in reducing their energy use, therefore lowering utility costs, and contributing to the City’s community climate goals. These funds are for a local organization that is a 501c(3) or equivalent and can provide energy audits and technical assistance as well as limited financial incentives for energy efficiency improvements to local small businesses. The application will open on January 5, 2026, and the deadline to apply is February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Additional details can be found on the Climate Action Grant Opportunities page. NOTE: This is not a direct-grant subsidy for individuals or households, and therefore, individuals and households are not eligible to apply directly.

- Funding Available: $125,000, funding to be made available approximately 60 days after awards are announced
- Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations located within the City of Charlottesville
- Application Deadline: Applications are due no later than February 6, 2026 by 5:00 PM
- How to Apply: The application can be accessed online. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early. Only completed applications will be considered for funding.
