Travis W. Herndon Found Guilty
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – On Friday, February 6, a Charlottesville jury found Travis W. Herndon guilty of aggravated malicious wounding, malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, and assault and battery for a 2024 shooting on Carlton Avenue which left one victim with permanent and significant injuries. Mr. Herndon’s sentencing has been set for May 19, 2026 where he faces the possibility of up to life imprisonment.
Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nina-Alice Antony, who prosecuted this case, stated “Our office will continue to prioritize the prosecution of firearm-related offenses and crimes of violence. The outcome represents the hard work by law enforcement to seek justice for the three young victims in this case. We appreciate the diligence and attention paid to this case by the jury, who deliberated into the night on Friday, ultimately returning a verdict which held Mr. Herndon accountable for the choices he made."
