Charlottesville Expands Payment Options at Downtown Parking Garages
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville has added new self-service payment kiosks at the Market Street and Water Street parking garages, providing additional options for customers who prefer to pay without using a mobile device.
The kiosks allow customers to purchase parking time at the start of their visit and accept multiple forms of payment, including cash and credit/debit cards. A printed receipt confirms the paid parking session. A phone is not required to use this option.
Kiosk Locations:
- Market Street Garage: Mall level, near the elevator landing on the Downtown Mall side
- Water Street Garage: Ground level stairwell at the corner of Water Street and 2nd Street
Customers using the kiosk should have their license plate number available at the time of payment.
Visitors may now choose between the City’s pay-by-phone mobile system or the new self-service kiosks, offering greater flexibility and accessibility.
The first hour of parking at both garages will continue to be free, and hourly parking rates remain unchanged.
The City remains committed to improving and modernizing the downtown parking experience while ensuring convenient, user-friendly options for residents and visitors alike.
