CFD Celebrates EMS Week 2025

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - During National EMS Week 2025, the Charlottesville Fire Department (CFD) proudly recognizes the dedication and skill of the 99 EMS professionals who serve our community: 71 EMTs, 5 Advanced EMTs, 5 Intermediates, and 18 Paramedics across our Operations and Administrative teams.

These highly trained men and women are at the forefront of prehospital care—providing life-saving services, compassion, and calm in times of crisis. Their unwavering commitment to patient care and public safety exemplifies the very best of emergency medical services.

In 2025, CFD continued its investment in EMS excellence by introducing a new EMS Captain role on each shift to provide enhanced field supervision and support. Additionally, CFD is launching EMS-only positions this summer to further strengthen emergency response capabilities and ensure focused, high-quality care.

We invite the community to join us in honoring the extraordinary work of our EMS personnel during National EMS Week. Their service makes a difference every day—and this week, we celebrate them!
