Our Green Goals:

1. Choosing Eco-Friendly Buses: This year, we're making significant strides in selecting and integrating eco-friendly buses into our fleet. To learn more about the latest in green transportation, we hosted a bus expo with the team from Gillig, showcasing their advanced eco-friendly buses. Additionally, our team visited Champaign-Urbana to study their fleet and explore their innovative use of hydrogen-powered buses. By prioritizing vehicles with lower emissions, we aim to provide cleaner transportation options for our community.

2. Ending Fossil Fuel Bus Purchases by 2028: We have set an ambitious goal to cease purchasing fossil fuel-powered buses by 2028. This initiative is a critical step toward reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

3. Achieving a 100% Emission-Free Fleet by 2050: Our ultimate goal is to have a fully emission-free fleet by 2050. This long-term vision underscores our dedication to environmental sustainability and our commitment to making Charlottesville a cleaner, healthier place to live.
