Support Operations Division

The Support Operations Division consists of the Staff Development Unit, Accreditation and Compliance Manager, the SWAT Team, and Information Management Unit.

Staff Development Unit

The Staff Development Unit responsibilities include: 

  • Analyzing Training Issues
  • Applicant Screening
  • Attending Job Fairs to Assist in Recruitment
  • Hiring
  • Overseeing the Completion of Mandatory Retraining of All Sworn and Non-Sworn Personnel at Approved Training Sites
  • Recruitment

Information Management Unit

Information Management Unit responsibilities of this unit include: 

  • Providing the public reception function for the Department
  • Maintaining records of:
    • Accidents
    • Arrests
    • Crime
    • Warrants
    • Other Incidents

Accreditation and Compliance Manager

The Accreditation and Compliance Manager’s responsibilities include implementing policies that are in compliance with best practices from the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
