Virginia Child Protection & Accountability System
The Virginia Child Protection and Accountability System is located on the Virginia Department of Social Services Public Website. The Virginia Child Protection and Accountability System is a repository of data collected from multi-disciplinary agencies involved in the protection of children. They include State Police, Circuit Courts, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts and the Criminal Sentencing Commission.
The website was redesigned to be more user-friendly and displays the data in visually appealing charts and graphs. The Virginia Child Protection and Accountability System spotlights the prevalence of child abuse/neglect in each locality across the State and could provide data to highlight services needed across the state as well as in specific localities. It can also assist local agencies and the public with improving the response (legislative, programmatic, service, etc.) to child abuse/neglect in their communities and across the State.
