Join Charlottesville, Albemarle, LEAP, and C3 for the Energy Resource Hub Launch Party

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, in partnership with Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) and Community Climate Collaborative (C3), are pleased to announce the launch of the Energy Resource Hub, energyresourcehub.org. The Energy Resource Hub connects homeowners, renters, and businesses in Charlottesville and Albemarle County with energy-saving rebates and incentives.

The Energy Resource Hub is intended to be a one-stop-shop for all local, utility, state, and federal energy efficiency programs available to Charlottesville and Albemarle homeowners, renters, and businesses. In addition to online resources, the hub will offer in-person technical assistance and energy assessments from experts at LEAP and C3. The Energy Resource Hub is funded by the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

“We know that community members need help understanding what energy programs and benefits are available to them. Everyone’s home or business is different,” says City of Charlottesville Climate Program Manager Emily Irvine. “The Resource Hub is designed to help folks reduce their energy use and save money while having a positive impact on the environment.”

The Energy Resource Hub provides support with the following incentives:

  • Rebates for energy-efficient appliances, HVAC systems, and weatherization.
  • Incentives for solar installation.
  • Tax credits for EV purchases and home EV charger installation.
  • Tax credits for energy efficiency home upgrades.
  • Rebates for businesses installing EV chargers.
  • Incentives for water-saving appliances.

We invite community members to join the Resource Hub Team for our Launch Party on Tuesday, March 11 from 4 to 7 pm at Carver Recreation Center. We will have energy experts on site to answer your questions. You can schedule a one-on-one with an expert during the event, whether you are a business or homeowner, sign up for your 15-minute timeslot for free energy consultation services!

Register to attend and then sign up for your consultation meeting to see how you can begin saving on energy.

"This is an important tool for our community members in the context of climate action,” said Jamie Powers, Interim Climate Action Program Manager for Albemarle County. “Both the City and County adopted climate action plans and set goals to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions. The Energy Resource Hub will help community members leverage millions of dollars of funding for climate action, not only reducing our emissions but also lowering energy costs.”
