
The Cville Match program seeks to advance commercialization efforts of local companies by providing matching funds to recipients of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contracts, as well as those receiving funding through Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) grants.
Cville Match also provides matching funds to City-based recipients of the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). VJIP is administered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) and is designed to help Virginia based traded-sector companies create new jobs in the commonwealth.
Qualifying City-based companies participating in the above programs are eligible to receive a local match once federal/state funds have been approved. Match amounts are up to $25,000 per-company, per-grant, subject to funds availability.
City of Charlottesville businesses that have previously participated in the VEDP Economic Gardening program (EG) may apply for a lower level of Cville Match grant funding up to $5,000, to assist with implementation of strategies identified through the EG process that will assist established, traded-sector businesses expand into markets outside of Virginia.
Funding for Cville Match is provided by the Charlottesville Economic Development Authority (CEDA). All grants are designed to be one-time awards, unless otherwise approved by CEDA.
