There are many smaller private parking lots located through out the Downtown area. The vast majority are reserved for monthly parking only, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Most have signs warning that you may be towed if you are not an authorized monthly parker.
There are, however, two privately owned surface parking lots that allow hourly public parking. Both lots require payment through a proprietary smart phone app. The private property owner does not accept any other method of payment. Signs are posted to this effect and rates vary. Both have signs warning that you may be towed if you do not pay for parking.
Location
A surface lot is located next to the Water Street Garage. It is bounded by Water St E, 1st Street S, South Street E and 2nd Street SE. It has approximately 175 spaces.
A second lot is located behind the Wells Fargo Bank Building and is bounded by Market Street E, 1st Street N and 2nd Street NE. It has approximately 75 spaces.
