Charlottesville Police Identify Second Suspect in November 1st Shooting


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Charlottesville Police Department continues to investigate the shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of November 1, 2025, in the 1100 block of River Road, which resulted in four individuals being shot. 

Through the course of the investigation, the Charlottesville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has identified 20-year-old Charlottesville resident, Kaijon Cortez Sholes, as one of the suspects involved in the shooting incident.

Based on the ongoing investigation, Sholes was arrested on Wednesday, November 5th and has been charged with the following offense:

  • Code of Virginia 18.2-308.2 – Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Sholes is currently being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. Additional charges are pending as detectives continue to investigate this incident.
