Chesterfield Man Arrested for Online Child Exploitation

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On October 1st, 2025, a Charlottesville police detective in an online undercover capacity, was contacted by a male who intended to meet with a reported 14-year-old female to engage in sexual activity in the City of Charlottesville.

Through further investigation and follow up, CPD Detectives and Officers took Ricardo Lopez Solis, a 29-year-old resident of Chesterfield County, into custody at Azalea Park where Lopez Solis had agreed to meet for sexual activity on October 7th.

Lopez Solis was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following crimes:

  • 1 count of 18.2-374.3(B) - Use of Communications Systems while Taking Indecent Liberties with a Minor
  • 1 count of 18.2-374.3(C)(3) - Use of Communications Systems for Solicitation of a Minor

Lopez Solis remains in custody at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail; he is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
