CPD Charges Suspect in South 1st Street Shooting


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - CPD has charged 18-year-old Albemarle County resident, Nasir Dashawn Walker, with two counts of attempted malicious wounding (Virginia Code:18.2-51) and one count of possession of a firearm by convicted felon (Virginia Code:18.2-308.2(A)).

These charges follow the September 1, 2025, shots fired incident in the 1000 block of South 1st Street. 

Walker was taken into custody by the Albemarle County Police Department on December 16, 2025, in an apartment on Whitewood Road. Following his arrest, CPD detectives obtained a search warrant for the apartment on Whitewood Road and recovered a stolen firearm.

Mr. Walker is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
